Dress Code

Responsibility for the dress and appearance of students generally rests with individual students and their families. Although students may wish to express themselves by the way they dress and their appearance, they may not wear clothing or affect an appearance that disrupts the educational environment at school or school-sanctioned activities or events, according to Jeffco Public Schools’ dress code policies.

District standards on student attire are intended to help students focus on schoolwork, reduce discipline problems and improve school order and safety. Subject to district approval, principals may establish additional specific standards for their schools. Those standards should strive to be gender-neutral and must be published and distributed to families.

Please help us maintain high standards of respect and honor for all students. Students who aren’t dressed appropriately will be notified of the dress code violation and required to correct it before reentering the classroom, school environment or school-sanctioned activity or event. At the discretion of the building-level administrator, a family conference may be held. More serious consequences may result from repeated or serious violations.
