Nanci Tatum joining Warren Tech this year as our emergency dispatch instructor. Nanci's enthusiasm and passion for her former profession is apparent in the work she does with her students. She is excited to launch this new program and believes that a career in emergency dispatch is a rewarding and rapidly growing profession.

After a successful career as a 911 dispatcher for Adams County, Nanci decided to retire from the profession and pursue a desire to teach emergency dispatch. In addition to the innumerable experiences she brings from her 33 years in the field, she uses powerful and extraordinary narratives to use as learning tools in her classroom. Ms. Tatum has also worked for the Jeffco School Safety Dispatch Center. She is a member of APCO (Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials) Emergency Medical Dispatch, train the trainer and supervisory institutes. She hold multiple certifications in the dispatch associations and through the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. Nanci took part in producing a nationally distributed puppet show designed to teach children about 911. Ms. Tatum received the Good Citizenship Award for the city of Commerce City for a 911 call she took from a ten year old girl.

In her free time, you may find Nanci cheering on the Broncos and Rockies, enjoying time with her daughters and grandchildren. She also might be taking her Puggle named Max, a certified therapy dog, to hospitals, college campuses, schools and libraries. Ms.Tatum may be reached by email at [email protected]
