• Access America's News - Full text from US newspapers from local, state, regional and national news.
• Access World News - Full text from more than 4,700 sources, with articles on issues, events, people, government and more. 
• Biography in Context - Biographies for people around the world and throughout history.
• Colorado Historic Newspapers - Newspapers published in Colorado between 1859 and 1924.
• Colorado Newspapers - Full text of local Colorado newspapers including, but not limited to, Arvada Press, Denver Post, Lakewood Sentinel, Rocky Mountain News.
• Denver Post - Full-text articles from 1989 to present.
• Explora for Teens - Search across several EBSCO databases at once. Find information for school assignments from magazines, newspapers and reference books on a variety of topics as well as videos, primary sources, images and biographies. 
• Gale Virtual Reference - Reference books covering many subject areas. Download PDF chapters to your computer or mobile device. 
• Global Issues in Context - Provides up-to-date information about current world issues and international news stories. 
• New York Times - Full text of the New York Times from 1851 to the present.
• NewsBank - Print and online-only newspapers, blogs, newswires, journals, broadcast transcripts and videos. 
• MAS Ultra - Periodical articles, biographies, maps, reference books and primary sources, covering many subjects including history, science and health.
• Opposing Viewpoints - Current social issues. Access viewpoint articles, topic overviews, statistics, primary documents, news and more. 
• Points of View Reference Center - Reliable information for multiple sides of current issues. 
• Scholastic GO! - More than 45,000 full articles with links to research-oriented websites. 

• Access Business News - Full-text articles with coverage of industries, markets, companies, executives and products.

• Business Source Premier - Find news articles related to your specific type of business. 
  • When to use: If you need to find research on a specific field, such as fashion or restaurant businesses, you can find information on the industry and what factors influence it.
• Colorado Grants Guide - Database of funders that support Colorado-based companies
  • When to use: If you want to look up possible donors to help support your. This is a fairly robust site and may seem overwhelming to search. 
    • Before diving into it, make sure you know specifically what area of business you want to find grants for. 
• Demographics Now - A database for geographic business intelligence research. Provides information to help businesses with marketing their services, identifying new customers or sales territories and learning about competitors. Produce high-quality reports with maps and charts representing the data. 
  • When to use: This would be a great place to go if you have developed a business plan but need to know your target demographic. Develop your marketing plan around this demographic. Create charts and data to support your plan. 
    • For example, if you want to know which state sells the most cakes for your baking business, you can search these statistics.
• LinkedIn Learning - Video courses taught by industry professionals.
  • When to use: Learn how to become a small business owner from the basics of writing your business model and developing a business plan to working through the legal process of setting up a corporate entity.
• Occupational Outlook Handbook - This site is run by the US Bureau of Labor and Statistics and does not require a login through the public library. 
  • When to use: If you need to research information about the nature of work, working conditions, training and education, earnings and job outlook for hundreds of different occupations in the United States. 
• Reference Solutions-Find potential competitors, partners, customers or donors. Access information on 24 million US businesses and 260 million consumers. 
  • When to use: Find information and statistics on businesses, conduct job searches, sales leads, new business opportunities, find key business people’s contact information or analyze competitors.

• America's Obituaries and Death Notices - A collection of obituaries and death notices covering 90% of recent deaths in the United States 1860 - present. 
• Biography in Context - Good for researching high-profile criminals and those who are widely known for having influenced and impacted the field of forensic science.
• Science in Context - Books, videos, news, experiments and projects. Subjects include biographies, biology, chemistry, environmental science, health and medicine.
• World Book Timelines - The notable people (scientists) and the science and technology timelines could be useful for research. You can also create your own timeline and add media to it.

Reliable online resources:

• Murderpedia - A free online encyclopedic dictionary of murderers and the largest database about serial killers and mass murderers around the world. 
  • Note: This site has not been updated since 2017, so it is not the most reliable, but you can access information here that is accurate.

• Law Library of Congress - The largest library in the world is the main research arm of the US Congress and is home of the US Copyright Office.
• Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection - Full text and abstracts from psychology journals. Useful in your research for sociology and your sociological “imagination project.”
• Government - Resources include online databases, links to websites with information on property records search, Jefferson County inmate lookup and Jefferson County zoning complaints.

• Consumer Health Complete - Content includes videos, fact sheets, images and diagrams, evidence-based reports and journals. 
• Health and Medicine - Featured Guide - A variety of resources picked by Jeffco librarians on the topics of health and medicine.
• PubMed - The PubMed database contains more than 30 million citations and abstracts of biomedical literature. 
  • It does not include full-text journal articles; however, links to the full text are often present when available from other sources, such as the publisher's website or PubMed Central (PMC). 
• SAGE - A global academic publisher of books, journals and a growing suite of library products and services.
• Science in Context - Books, videos, news, experiments and projects. Subjects include biographies, biology, chemistry, environmental science, health and medicine.
• Science Reference Center - Full-text articles from science magazines, journals, biographies, encyclopedias, reference books and a vast collection of videos and images.
