Dental Assisting
Overview
Are you independent, personable, energetic and health-minded? Would you like to work in the health field, reassure nervous patients, and teach self-care techniques?
Warren Tech's Dental Assisting program teaches students to work directly with patients to make them comfortable and ready for dental procedures.
Dental assisting is an incredibly important job that provides dentists with in-office and patient help. Dental assistants serve as the first point of contact for new and returning patients. They provide a friendly face to ease worries and also perform a variety of important functions for the dental practice. Students will learn how to prepare instruments and materials, update medical records, take and process X-rays and make impressions.
The course is a combination of classroom and clinical work that combines theory, academics and hands-on practice. During the second half of the second semester, students will participate in an internship.
