Graphic Design & Illustration
Overview
Do you draw, take photos, paint or just find yourself wanting to express your creativity more? Learn how designers communicate visually through their work to express an idea or message to their audience.
Design is present everywhere – from the art on your soda can to your cell phone display, from the pages of your favorite magazine to the logo for every brand you buy. Designs inhabit your life from the websites you visit to that T-shirt you love to wear.
Everything depends on cohesive design to communicate a specific message and an identifiable purpose. Design is the act of creating, fashioning, executing or constructing according to a plan. Communication is the act of conveying meaningful information. Graphic designers blend these concepts, using a wide array of software and other tools to successfully communicate a client’s message to a particular audience.
The Graphic Design program at Warren Tech empowers students to create visual imagery to meet the industry demands of today. Students will learn logo development, illustration, package and label design, screen printing and digital imaging. Students will also learn how to work with clients and will develop an extensive portfolio showcasing their skills in creating print and digital media.
