GAME DEVELOPMENT 🎮

Made by Warren Tech Video Production students

Want to be involved in a team that translates ideas into video game action? Do you enjoy learning new technologies and applying creativity and logic to solve problems? Are you a team player and a good communicator? Are you creative, but also possess technical aptitude? Are you detail-oriented, able to multitask? Can you see “the big picture” and remain flexible?

In Game Development, students design and write game software for PCs, game consoles, phones, and tablets. Students turn animation, art, and music into games that people love. Structured as an Apprenticeship Game Studio, students can choose to learn 2D and 3D programming, digital sculpting, animation (both 2D and 3D), lighting, and rigging.  Using a team-centered, problem-solving approach, students develop the skills needed to be successful in the game development industry. While this program is not about playing video games, becoming a game developer does require a love for games. You will need a mix of dedication, knowledge, and the ability to work as part of a team.

Game Development provides a foundation for students to pursue a bachelor’s or graduate degree in Computer Science or Art in Animation and Game Development. Many colleges now offer an emphasis in Art or Science for game development.
